North East United FC (NEUFC) has clinched the Durand Cup for the second time in a row, marking the first time since 1991. The North East team defeated Diamond Harbour FC 6-1 in Asia’s oldest football tournament, the Durand Cup. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma congratulated the team and expressed the state’s eagerness to host all teams again. NEUFC became the first side since 1991 to defend its crown at the Durand Cup, marking the second overall victory for the team in the prestigious tournament.
